Mercer University‘s Marketing Communications Office has won a 2022 Circle of Excellence Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
The University was honored with a silver award for its video “Mercer alumnus makes prosthetic for a puppy missing a paw” in the promotional (long) video category.
The video featured alumnus Chris Scrivner and his work in prosthetics and orthotics, which included making a limb for a three-legged puppy named Goose. The video highlighted Scrivner’s participation in the Mercer On Mission Vietnam program, in which students fit prosthetics and orthotics on amputees and children with disabilities. Scrivner went to Vietnam twice with the program, and the trips solidified his decision to pursue prosthetics and orthotics as a career.

Our team did an excellent job of bringing the story to life for others to see.”
CASE is a nonprofit association dedicated to educational advancement that serves institutions across the world, and its Circle of Excellence Awards are the premier recognition program for educational advancement. These peer-selected and adjudicated awards honor colleges, universities and schools worldwide whose talented staff have advanced their organizations with resourcefulness and ingenuity.

This year, CASE received more than 4,500 entries from 636 institutions in nearly 30 countries. Of those, volunteer judges selected 626 exemplary entries for bronze, silver, gold or Grand Gold recognition.
Winners were selected based on several factors, including overall quality, innovation, use of resources and the impact on the institution or its external and internal communities, such as alumni, parents, students, faculty and staff.
